An Embedded Australian Pentecostal Missiology
June 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Pentecostal Missiology in Australia has been critiqued on various counts, for preferencing the importance of growth over discipleship, for attractional methods and for emphasis on emotionalism. This presentation explores the usefulness of ethnography for reviewing Pentecostal practice. If mission truly is the mother of theology, this presentation shares how Aboriginal-led Pentecostal missiology may be rewriting the movement’s theology in unexpected ways.
Tanya Riches is a Senior Lecturer and Masters Program oversight, Hillsong College, Australia.
