Welcome to the IAMS 15th Assembly

On behalf of the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS) and our partner the Australian Association for Mission Studies (AAMS), we welcome you to the registration and information pages for our 15th IAMS Assembly, which will meet from July 7-11, 2022 at Morling College in Sydney, Australia.

Delayed due to COVID-19, our postponed 2020 Assembly will now be offered in a hybrid form that combines in-person and online participation in a rich program that combines intellectual engagement, warm fellowship, and stimulating conversations.

Your IAMS Executive is working hard to provide affordable and transformative access to as many members as possible. We are working hard to minimise the impact for those who are simply unable to come to Sydney.

The good news is that from mid-April the Australian immigration authorities have lifted all requirements for pre-departure or on-arrival COVID-19 testing. Given the hybrid format, we anticipate a large number of participants and recognise this will bring its own challenges as we try to accommodate multiple time-zones from our location in the southern hemisphere. (We do remind those coming to Sydney that triple vaccination is mandatory to enter hotels and residential colleges and you will need to provide your proof of vaccination.)

We are looking forward to stimulating intellectual engagement from our plenary speakers; providing over 150 of our members the opportunity to present a study papers; and to a range of inspiring cultural and spiritual activities, all of which we plan to make available online.

We invite you to engage the Assembly as fully as possible and are grateful for your participation.

Welcome to Sydney!

IAMS President, 2016-2022.
