Global Glimpses of Jesus: The Intersection of Art, Mission and Theology

March 25, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$10

Artists have portrayed Jesus as black, white, Chinese, among others, and occasionally as a Jew. With the global spread of the Gospel, the biblical story has entered new cultures and artists have responded by depicting the biblical narratives in their artistic vernacular. What does this wonderful diversity of representation suggest about our theology and what does this lend to our understanding of contextualisation?

Dr Scott Moreau is the Academic Dean of Wheaton College Graduate School & Professor of Intercultural Studies. His professional interests include contextualization of the Christian faith, issues related to phenomenology (folk religions, spiritual warfare), and technology in missions (especially information technology and the use of the Internet).

Please RSVP by Monday 21st March.
