The Sydney Statement is an interfaith charter for "Building Bridges Between Believers from Different Religions". It was led by Youth PoWR (Parliament of the World’s Religions), developed over two years of consultations and drafting, and overseen by a Steering Committee of representatives from different religions, including members of peak state and national bodies. Pentecostal Missiology in Australia has been critiqued on various counts, for preferencing the importance of growth over discipleship, for attractional methods and for emphasis on emotionalism. This presentation explores the usefulness of ethnography for reviewing Pentecostal practice.
